Senior Project Manager

About the role:

You will have the opportunity to directly partner with executive level business champions to identify, evaluate and deploy projects at a national level spanning across multiple business segments, UHC and Optum departments. This is a challenging role that relies on your ability to effectively manage projects and build relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to use various methodologies and tools to collaborate in a cross-matrix environment will drive long term success keeping projects on track within the project scope and timeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or help develop project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program / project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document) for the delivery of key strategic and affordability initiatives.
  • Drive strategic initiatives across various functions within the business from inception through post deployment monitoring
  • Develop and maintain project plans, tasks, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements
  • Lead coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas
  • Provide regular project updates that cover program implementation plans / project risk / issue management plans and strategies (e.g., mitigation, avoidance, transfer, acceptance)
  • Establish / apply quality objectives, criteria, standards and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with stakeholder input (e.g., key performance indicators, scope definition)
  • Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
  • Monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of project resources
  • Provide input into and/or develop relevant policies, procedures, and/or work tools to support new or updated business processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant Project Management experience
  • Proven experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership
  • Strong communication skill sets, with the ability to support and present information in a variety of different formats to all levels of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work a portion of monthly work hours from our Dublin office is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prince 2 project management qualification OR Project Management Certification PMP
  • Previous experience standing up a new business or business change initiative
  • Healthcare experience
  • Experience working across multiple countries
  • Previous experience working within a large multinational matrixed environment
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
