ITContracting are currently seeking applicants for a Senior Network Engineer.
Required Experience:
Extensive knowledge of the Cisco product range and command sets is essential for this role. Cisco routing and switching equipment in particular.
In addition to the standard Cisco routing and switching, knowledge of VOIP, QoS and Video conferencing are essential.
A key attribute required for working within this area is an excellent understanding and working knowledge of all types of networking hardware and software.
Whilst industry certification may be important, practical real-world experience within a similar role will be given high consideration. Much of the work involved depends upon the individual’s ability to draw upon previous experience coupled with an innovative and creative approach to technical problem solving. A high proportion of the work involved includes dealing directly with staff at the various locations. This requires cooperation from within each location and it is considered imperative that a good line of communications exists between the end users and the telecoms/network support staff.
Successful applicants will be subject to security clearance procedures. Security clearance will be required in order to work in this position.

Data Centre – Cisco Nexus Switching (NX 7K/5K/2K/1Kv platforms), VDC, vPC, FCoE, OTV, DCI technologies, SAN Fibre Channel switching and integration, Cisco Unified Computing System (rack and Blade) and Network Segregation & Virtualisation – VLANs, VRFs, VDCs, VPNs and overlay networking and Data Encryption – Inter Networking device encryption (IPSec, GETVPN, DMVPN with protection, MAC Sec/security group tagging)
Security – Firewalls (Juniper, Cisco ASA), Router & LAN Switch security features, AAA Radius/TACACS+, NAC technology, 802.1X and Network Management
