The IP Backhaul engineering team looks after country specific network testing, high level design, low level design and the delivery of the backhaul IP networks & Security Gateway infrastructure. The team is part of a bigger team called NABE (National Access and Backhaul Engineering) who design and deliver the backhaul IP Network & Security Gateway Infrastructure across all the Vodafone European countries.
The next challenge for you as an IP Network and Services Design Engineer will be to:
Perform network engineering activities related to the design / re-design of Vodafone IP Backhaul & Security Gateway infrastructure.
Participate in the testing and acceptance of new SW & HW releases associated with IP backhaul & Security Gateway infrastructure.
Perform capacity planning and dimensioning associated with IP Backhaul & Security Gateway infrastructure.
Work on the alignment of IP Backhaul & Security Gateway network plans for the Europe Region with Technology Strategy recommendations and guidelines.
Study local market special needs and requirements and devise specific designs for IP networks & related IP services, supporting those requirements. Also provide all local markets and relevant fulfilment teams, with effective and efficient solutions for projects’ deployment.
Support the evolution plan and life cycle management of SDN technology and automation roadmap for national and international.

An academic degree and/or at least 10 years work experience in a Telecommunications Networks / Technology organisation supporting design & delivery activities in relation to large service provider infrastructures.
Solid knowledge of IP technology as it applies to Fixed, Mobile & Enterprise network traffic requirements and characteristics. Able to challenge given solutions and identify innovation opportunities.
Some experience / exposure to SW development background aimed to automate provisioning, performance monitoring & reporting and introduction of Software Defined Network technologies. Certifications in Cisco CCNP, CCIE are considered an added value.
Project management skills and ability to work in a team and project-oriented organization
Cultural understanding and communication skills.
