The Technology Platform domain mission is to ensure Personio builds and scales as a high performing engineering organisation. We drive engineering excellence in Personio, for the benefit of our engineers, our product, and our customers by comprising teams dedicated to excellence in specific areas of software engineering. We measure the core metrics of software development delivery and we use them to drive initiatives that enable teams to build, test, deliver, and operate their software to the highest industry standards. Personio is aiming to build a storage team that will provide tools and consulting (Mysql and Postgres) for our whole engineering department, our BI teams, and within our own infrastructure teams.We need you to solve our main challenges for our product engineers: identifying and unblocking databases bottlenecks, scaling our storage platform, and excelling in monitoring.

In 2 years we aim to have trained and made autonomous all product teams at Personio.

Responsibilities

• Designing and optimizing our databases together with the product teams
• Perform internal training around databases usage & optimizations and write documentations
• Enabling engineering teams with self-service tools
• Working hand-by-hand with the other infrastructure teams to create a coherent data platform

• Over 4 years as a DBA, Database Engineer, or similar role
• Experience with non-relational database technologies is a plus
• Experience building and designing infrastructure with AWS
• Familiarity with services such as RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, EC2, S3, CLI, SDK, or equivalent is a plus.
• Proficiency coding in UNIX shell and SQL
• You appreciate automated infrastructures and are familiar with at least one infrastructure-as-code tool (knowledge of at least one procedural language such as Python and Golang preferred)
• You have excellent written and spoken English
• You have experience or willing to experience rapid growth and are “building our plane while flying it”. So bring your agile mindset to the table!
