Operations Intern - Growth Mobility

About the Internship

The team’s mission is to ensure that customers in Ireland have a reliable and convenient mobility service at all times. Uber is also operating a delivery business in multiple Irish cities. We would like to look for ways to collaborate more between the two business lines to grow Uber as a whole.

This is a hugely meaningful role that requires someone who knows the culture, how local riders commute and adapt to e-hailing taxis and limousines, provide insights on what new service or cities should Uber expand into. The role will be responsible in project planning and execution (80%) with the chance to collaborate and share progress in team meetings (20%). The cross functional partners will include Uber Eats Ireland team, Community Operations, Central Operations, Marketing, Legal.

What You'll Do

You’ll use analytical and operational knowledge to recommend initiatives that impact business outcomes, plan and execute on projects that enable Uber to service more drivers and riders. In addition, projects may include: 

  • New rider sign up campaign
  • New driver sign up campaign
  • Collaboration with Uber Eats and other companies
  • New product and city launch process

Basic Qualifications 

  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree 
  • Availability to work 6 months full time in in January 2022 
  • Working rights in Ireland (No sponsorship available)
  • Business Insight: Understanding and being fully aware of how our business operates and how it makes money and sustains profitable growth, now and in the future
  • Communication: Using communication skills and situational awareness to clearly deliver information to a variety of audiences
  • Planning and Organization: Setting up and maintaining systems to appropriately structure and keep track of tasks and projects
  • Problem Solving: Effectively resolving issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic and common sense
  • Excellent Excel skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • SQL knowledge preferred (and if not, must possess an aptitude to learn quickly as it will quickly form part of your day-to-day activity)
