Network DDI Engineer

ITContracting are currently seeking applications on behalf of our client, a global insurance provider and FinTech company, for a Network DDI Engineer. This is a permanent position based with our client in South Dublin.

Our client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer specialising in DDI unified solutions, or the integration of DNS, DHCP and IPAM (IP Address Management). The Network DDI Engineer will join part of the existing EMEA Security Network Operations Team and will be responsible for supporting major business project activities within the Ireland/UK and wider EMEA region, including Central Europe and the Nordics, while also collaborating closely with similar teams in North America.

The ideal candidate will provide senior technical support for network and security devices in the region, while also acting as 3rd line support and main point of contact to the IT operations teams. Reporting to EMEA Head of Security Network Operations, the successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include design and deployment of new network security devices, and the design and implementation of DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) related services.

The Network DDI Engineer will also act as our client’s primary escalation point to external third party suppliers, and will be responsible for related vendor and stakeholder management with key networking and DDI service providers.

Responsibilities:

As a Network DDI Engineer your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Analysis, configuration and implementations, design, and investigation and diagnosis of incidents and problems relating to DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) and related services
  • The DDI platform within our client’s organisation is global, and this role will be focused primarily on supporting the European and wider EMEA region
  • This Network DDI Engineer will be a key member of the Security Network Operations Team, which also manages other key network security infrastructure, and will report to the Regional EMEA Head of Security Network Operations

Experience: 5 years

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related study field e.g. Information Technology
  • 5+ years of experience working in a similar Network Engineer role
  • Direct experience managing a DDI environment in a large-scale enterprise organization, working with relevant service providers such as Bluecat or Infoblox
  • Extensive knowledge of DNS, DHCP and IPAM networking protocols
  • Prior experience with DDI server builds, especially in a virtual environment, is preferred
  • Strong experience and background in networking and security
  • Firewall management such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto and/or Checkpoint
  • Python or Perl Scripting and associated DDI automation is preferred
  • Experience working in a hybrid cloud is desirable
  • Red Hat Linux experience
  • Microsoft Office experience
