Network Cloud is a new Platform that is being built to underpin critical business functions such as 5G and the Emergency Services Network. This role is key to the successful Design and Implementation of this, so the technologies used and how they are implemented needs to be of the highest possible quality. This role will need to provide technical guidance and instruction to Tenants using the Platform so that the user experience is easy and efficient.
You'll have the following responsibilities
You’ll be the subject matter expert in one or more of these technical areas:-
Accountable for Openstack/VIM designs whilst demonstrating wider appreciation of the end-to-end solution (i.e. multi-technology awareness)
You will implement and integrate complex, multi technology products/services with bespoke project/work package requirements
Specialist at designing a Telco-grade virtualisation platform upon which BT will be hosting its future ‘virtual network functions’. Instrumental in the continued evolution of BT’s core network services and BT’s future success
Will work across Dynamic Infrastructure and with platform tenants to ensure Dynamic IT are able to run an efficient and reliable Network Cloud that is fit for purpose
You will provide onboarding consultancy to any platform that intends to consume Network Cloud
You will provide thought leadership in this area across Dynamic IT
Openstack is not mandatory but nice to have. You need to have top notch Unix/Linux skills, and are passionate to build a career in DevOps/Openstack/Kubernetes areas. Training will be provided. We are looking for the very best Unix engineers, whether Solaris or HPUX or other flavours of Unix/Linux.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, complex problem solving and excellent communication skills are also required.
