Network Architect

RealTime Recruitment are looking for a Network Architect, you will be part of the continuous service improvement process, also feed into the innovative design of new and existing solution and improve the quality of design and implementation processes.

You will be responsible to effectively design and review in-life or new network requirements and capabilities for your assigned customers.

A key function of the role is to manage customer expectations by defining standards and ensuring these are followed as well as implementing new technologies and monitoring performance based on specified requirements.


Responsibilities:
 

  • Participate and input to the Architect Forum defining the standards and best practise guidelines
  • Responsible for determining the root cause of problems resulting from incidents & events
  • Establishing & managing remediation plans offering innovative solutions to complex issues and problems
  • Articulate complex technologies in terms of business capability & possess excellent technical writing skills.
  • Input to proposals, service improvement proposals where specific technical authority is required.
  • Input to the creation of detailed change plans, test strategies & risk analysis.
  • Deliver specialist professional and technical advice to the wider function and business such as Sales, Pre-sales, Service, Product Management and other areas as necessary
  • Deliver presentations on technology Proof of Concepts and seminars for technological advancement, impart knowledge promptly.
  • Contribute toward collaborative mechanisms for communication amongst peers
  • Participate in an 'on call' where required at an expert level (L3).
  • Build relationships and processes with our suppliers and partners e.g. Cisco & Fortinet.
  • You must have 5+ years' experience with CCIE (Cisco Expert level certifications)
  • CCDA
  • Industry Background in Telco, ICT and Consulting
  • In-depth knowledge of MBGP, MPLS VPNs, L3 VPN's, VPLS, L2 tunnels over MPLS, Traffic Engineering, QOS and Inter AS VPN's.
  • Enterprise Architecture qualifications such as TOGAF
  • Strong Unix/Linux skills and the ability to script in Python, Perl, shell, C or C++ is desirable
