Lead Network Engineer

Currently we are recruiting a Lead Network Engineer to work with our team in Dublin, Ireland. We are looking for someone with the experience that can help us design, update and manage a number of Digital transformation efforts across our customer Data centres and campus locations while also helping define strategies for their cloud migration efforts.

We have ambitious plans and are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join us and enhance the capability within the team.

Your Role:

In this role you will be reviewing current data centre networks, campus and cloud architectures. Identifying technical issue and enhancements while ensuring we meet our customer SLAs and needs. You will be responsible for:

  • Campus Lan and Wifi design and operations
  • Datacentre architecture, operations and network security
  • Continuous improvement of all aspects of the network architecture and processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a global team of network engineers.
  • Ability to communicate network solutions to technical and non-technical employees.
  • Work closely with the cloud teams to ensure a clear secure strategy for cloud migrations
  • Work with the cloud architects to ensure cloud network best practices are been implemented and adhered to
  • Troubleshoot any network outages and document root cause.
  • Help automate as much network configuration as possible
  • Provide cross-functional team support to system and security administrators for timely project completion.
  • Participation in on-call escalations, as they may arise.
  • Knowledge of Wireless, TCP/IP, spanning-tree, subnetting, routing protocols, access control lists, vpn, network access control, and firewall operations.
  • Experience in a multi-vendor environment, with the ability to transfer network configurations and concepts from one vendor to another. Desired vendor experience in Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint firewalls.
  • Practical configuration experience with OSPF, BGP, port-channels, firewalls, network fabrics, and DMVPN.
  • Network tools including but not limited to: Ansible, Wireshark, Network Management Systems, Network configuration management, sflow/netflow, IPAM, and SDN.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, agile and collaborative environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - both inside and outside the engineering team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
