Engineering Manager - Application Performance

THE ROLE

At Personio we are on the amazing journey of scaling to meet our exponential growth in customers. After our recent $125M Series D funding we are the most valuable HR tech company in Europe and our company goal is to be the leading HR Platform for SMEs in Europe by 2023.

We are investing heavily in our Technology Platform team and their mission is to ensure Personio builds and scales as a high performing engineering organisation. We drive initiatives that enable our product engineering teams to build, test, deliver and operate the Personio application software to the highest industry standards.

We are creating a new Application Performance team which will play a key role ensuring our platform scales to accommodate our 2023 load and beyond. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to build and lead this team, refine the mission and roadmap, and deliver a new pillar to our Technology Platform.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants a fresh challenge, with a fresh team in an exciting company with a supportive environment. You will also get the opportunity to join the wider network of engineering managers across Europe and participate in initiatives which impact engineering, operational and management excellence across the entire company.

As a manager of the Application Performance team you will oversee the design of frameworks and tools to automate testing of performance on our platform.  The performance testing stack will be your responsibility to create, maintain and update with data which realistically reflects the projected customer data profile for 2+ years in advance. Your team will ensure that our performance tests are valid and up to date. The outputs of each performance run will be an automated report or scorecard which can be easily interpreted. Later we will shift left on performance as part of the build and deploy process, introducing a ‘performance gate’ into our CI/CD system.
