SAP Midmarket is looking for an Enterprise Architect with two main missions: advice our existing customers regarding migration strategy into the cloud and convince our leads on the feasibility and the scalability of the integration of our solutions with hybrid infrastructures. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced IT Consultant with extensive knowledge in IT Infrastructure Design, Cloud Native Architecture, Integration and Data Management, Security Management, Customer grade experience and Applied Intelligence. 
The location of this position is Dublin, Ireland. 
ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT ROLE 
The regional presales Enterprise Architect is a senior presales position who provides direct support to the regional sales in the development and execution of strategies for SAP’s Innovation platform of solutions in complex and strategic sales opportunities. 

HIGH LEVEL RESPONSIBILITIES 
The role involves interacting with prospective customers virtually (90% of the time) through executive meetings, discovery conversations, solution demonstrations, executive presentations, and follow-up discussions. The emphasis of the role is to provide value to prospects and customers through the SAP solutions, thus supporting the sales cycle. 
They provide a holistic solution view in terms of architecture and roadmap design. Working jointly with the Business Architects, Technology Architects, and the customer, they bridge the gap between the business strategy and technology enablers driving the architecture strategy thus supporting the success of their customer’s Enterprise Initiatives: 

  • Be the trusted advisor to sales and our customers
  • Act as a senior advisor to the customer with a broad Application; LoB; or Industry-focus, covering the entire company of a customer end-to-end.
  • Validate the as-is situation and goals of our customer and translate it into an appropriate business-driven to-be vision with a supporting IT-roadmap and design (processes, applications, systems) based on SAP’s offerings
  • Define baseline, transition & target architecture
  • Operationalize the customers’ business strategies in order to derive the best possible solution for the customer considering public / private cloud and on-premise scenarios.

Deal/Account Support Tasks (65%):

  • Lead technical workshops & discovery sessions to drive broader solution value and strategy. Lead architectural discussion: Discovery, Strategy, Recommendations
  • Proactively introduces innovation topics to solve specific customer needs
  • Present and position the broader vision and value of SAP’s portfolio to customers.  Help ‘connect the dots’ between business goals and IT capabilities
  • Evangelize on strategic innovation areas such as: SAP Strategy, Hyperscalers, Industry Cloud
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Presales peers to assess customer needs and appropriate mapping to SAP solutions. Support Industry Expert in conducting business transformation workshops. Create Enterprise Architecture and Roadmap Design
  • Engaged throughout the customer engagement lifecycle, be an integral member of the account engagement team
  • Support volume deals and our SAP channel partners

Business Development / Readiness Tasks (20%):

  • Uncover opportunities to generate demand with customers to help drive additional revenue
  • Present and position the broader vision and value of SAP’s portfolio to customers.
  • Build trusted advisor status, attend customer meetings and delivers advanced topics, future direction and roadmap

Sales Readiness

  • Actively engage in account and execution planning, to influence sales strategy to best position SAP Solution across top accounts
  • Collaborate with sales teams to plan account strategies through participation in informal and formal account reviews:
  • Collaborate with sales & Industry Presales Expert to plan account strategies
  • Support assessment of current customer solutions from SAP and potential areas of opportunity
  • Support development of initial PoV around customer initiatives 
  • Support and liaise with sales in account planning activities to build the customer vision based on solution scope
  • Develop close relationships with the sales teams in order to be aware of top deals and support their current and future customer engagements 
  • Participate in demo system design and planning and assist in configuration if needed 

Readiness Responsibilities (15%)

  • Stays current on all relevant solution updates in primary specialization, Cloud native architecture & Hyperscalers strategy
  • Knowledge of enabling the capabilities of the SAP-reference-architecture 
  • Experience with creating and managing enterprise-wide formal frameworks and supporting repositories
  • Maintain a close understanding and appreciation of competitive solutions.
  • Actively participates in the Enterprise Architects HUB community
  • Min. 10 years of SAP ERP consulting either on functional or technical roles*
  • Expert in Technical Architecture. Advanced knowledge in Enterprise, Business and Application architecture
  • End to end processes expertise related to Integration, Hardware Sizing, Data Management and Security, IT Infrastructure
  • Experience in sales and sales processes/consultative sales environment (8+ years of presales experience)
  • Demonstrates 10+ successful sales engagements on complex deals
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English
  • TOGAF qualified – highly desirable
  • SAP ERP Implementation experience on topics such as Enterprise Architecture, Business Process Design, Business Architecture, Project Management, Application Lifecycle Management
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks like TOGAF or Zachman
