Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior Principal dives deep into research and analysis of complex datasets to identify problems and develop strategies that help clients solve problems and improve their company’s performance. They play a hand in supporting junior analyst development and leading research discussions and collaboration. A Senior Principal is also a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging clients via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and events to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.
3+ years of experience with cloud finance applications as a member of IT and/or the finance organization, or as an employee of a vendor focused on financial management applications
Experience evaluating and implementing applications from vendors such as Oracle, Kyriba, Anaplan, Wolters Kluwer, SAP, Prophix
Basic knowledge of ERP instance and consolidation strategy
Demonstrated ability to write succinct papers comparing and contrasting vendors
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and willingness to take a position
Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
Demonstrate superior analytical skills while applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions
Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team
Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables
Adept at analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks to client challenges
Strong business and financial acumen
Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders
Subject matter expertise; experience presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements a plus
Demonstrate willingness and foundation ability to mentor and coach others
Flexible thinker adept at change and experienced navigating highly matrixed environments
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% (where applicable)
