Technical Lead/ Manager

UX Researcher, Fintech

The UX Research team is looking for an experienced researcher to join our team. In this role focused on the HubSpot FinTech experience, you’ll get to explore complex, and sometimes ambiguous, problem spaces and become an expert in how customers want to understand billing, purchase their products and manage their accounts. You’ll be an embedded member of a growth-oriented and highly iterative product group, while enjoying the support and community of a robust UX Research group. This is a fantastic opportunity for a resourceful, energetic team player who wants to architect research strategy and help build a user-centric culture for an important business unit. 

Embedded within HubSpot’s product organization, you will partner with Design, Content, Product Management, Analytics, Engineering and Finance to uncover deep insights about our users’ behaviors and attitudes. You will communicate results and actionable recommendations across the company to influence key decisions and product direction. You’ll think big about new areas, test concepts as they are being developed, and evaluate experiences once they’ve rolled out.


In this role you’ll get to:

  • Collaborate with product managers, product designers, content designers and engineers to drive product decisions and direction
  • Work with product analysts and product experts to triangulate data from multiple sources
  • Strategize and socialize the learning agenda, research plan, and approach
  • Conduct research, synthesize data, and report findings to stakeholders
  • Use your findings to influence product, finance and sales teams to improve the overall customer experience, product utility, usability, and satisfaction
  • Evangelize the UX research discipline and the UX Research team throughout HubSpot

  • Success leading user research projects with demonstrated impact
  • Work closely with product teams to identify research initiatives
  • Ability to influence teams to leverage research to set high-level strategy
  • Excel at leading productive discussion
  • Know what tools to utilize within their broad set of research techniques 
  • Understand how to gather and interpret complex data and use it to inform your research strategy
  • Awareness of your own and others’ biases and ability to minimize them in your work
  • Ability to identify and articulate behavioral patterns
  • The desire to dig into the data and are energized by unstructured discovery or exploratory research

Bonus skills:

  • Experience with SaaS products
  • Experience within FinTech and/or Payments
  • Experience creating study plans for discovery research
  • Experience running design thinking workshops
  • Experience scaling research by empowering teams to run their own smaller studies
