Technology Application Manager - AVP

Responsibilities

As part of the Global Custody Technology organisation, candidate will be part of a high performing and niche Global software development team.  The Application Manager role at Citi is a product lifecycle management role with ownership of multiple Securities Services Operations & Technology business critical applications.  

The application manager role initiates EOL/EOVS technology, security and compliance projects to ensure system stability.  The application manager will also independently project manage on-going system stability and maintenance projects to ensure that each application is configured with the latest supported software versions.

Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams.  Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the Application Manager.



Responsibilities:

  • The Applications Manager is the primary point of contact for organization stakeholders of each application. This role drives key development, maintenance, compliance, stability, efficiency and effectiveness improvements projects.
    •    Manages local applications portfolio with the focus on stability, quality and functionality against service level expectations.
    •Identifies risks, vulnerabilities and security issues; communicates impact.
    •    Effectively tracks management and resolution of reported compliance and vulnerability issues
    •    Partners with various SMEs and teams in business and technology organizations to ensure application stability and compliance
    •    Participates in Audit deliverables for applications and acts as default contact to auditors
    •    Ensures the managed applications participate in all in-scope compliance deliverables without risking overdues.
    •    Partners with technology and business stakeholders to reviews, develop and deliver compliant application contingency planning to ensure availability to users.
    •    Ensures adherence to GDPR data retention regulations including ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly
    •    Partners with appropriate development and production support areas to prioritize maintenance and support tooling requirements.
    •  Ensures essential procedures are followed and helps to define operating standards and processes.
    •  Defines scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution
    •    Active involvement in and ownership of Project items, covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
    •    End to End Accountability of project implementation from initiation to post deployment and support after go live for maintenance / stability projects
    • Ensure various Key Project Management matrices, Tools, Training etc are in align with Department expectations
    • Ensure project Implementation is as per Citi policies, and procedures and guidelines
    • Provide Project Status along with associated Risk, Issue, Dependencies etc to various governance forums as required by Project governance
    • Key Stakeholder management with various internal customers, partners, and internal and external suppliers
    • Aptitude to understand technology architectures and work with various partners for designing solution
    • Support Global and Regional Lead in preparing material/presentations for various forums (adhoc basis) 
    • Collaborate and work with global teams in Shangai, London, Dublin, Auckland, Tampa and India 
    • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
    •    Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree minimum requirement
  • Relevant years of Total experience in Product, Application or Project Management.
  • Advance experience in IT Project Management
  • Advance years experience in Product and Application Management.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Certified Project Manager
  • Experience installing, configuring or supporting business applications.
  • Good all-round technical skills
