AWS are looking for a Technical Programme Manager to expand the Edge Network. The Edge Deployment team expand the AWS Internet connected network across the EMEA region. We deploy low latency content delivery services like; Caching, DNS, Prime Video streaming, Internet and Backbone connectivity.

The role combines Project Management core skills with technical/networking knowledge to lead cross-functional, globally dispersed teams through planning, designs, constraints management and interdependent project schedules.

Key job responsibilities

• We start by consolidating the business (products and services) requirements in a location/region. We then design the appropriate border network (with engineering) to support it.
• We then build a Programme; physical infrastructure, hardware build and networking connectivity.
• Our Business Development to contract the space, and we oversee the data centre build. As soon as power and space is in place we then manage the network build with our installation and engineering teams.
• The final piece is Internet/Peering connectivity, again we have dedicated teams for contracting those. We oversee that this new network is directly connected to the local ISP's and so we can guarantee the customer experience.
• In true Project Management style we constantly review our processes and aim to use our skills and data collection to improve the business.
• TPM's are expected to manage risk in an ambiguous environment, manage multiple concurrent projects and also contribute to process improvement and team education.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant IT Discipline
· 3 years of project management experience
· Demonstrable Data Centre and/or Networking engineering operational experience
· Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project (or other related scheduling software)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
· Experience in the management of complex technology infrastructure projects
· Experience with and deep understanding of multiple project management methodologies
· Familiarity with the AWS product suite
· Excellent multi-tasking and prioritising skills
