Technical Project Manager (Data Infrastructure)

FabFitFun is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Engineering organization. In this role, the Technical Project Manager will primarily focus on Privacy, DevOps and Data Infrastructure projects. You are comfortable working with backend focused teams and have experience (or are comfortable with) working with Kanban style development (not traditional sprints). Previous DevOps or IT project management experience is preferred. You must also be comfortable with working in different time zones (FabFitFun HQ is in Los Angeles)

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and oversee execution of engineering tasks throughout the development process across DevOps, Data Infrastructure and Privacy platforms. Work includes translating stakeholder requirements into user stories for engineering implementation all the way through to Production.
  • Coordinate work with Engineering, Product, and QA teams to deliver projects to their intended business objectives, anticipating and accounting for challenges or obstacles (subject matter expert) and proactively working to mitigate risks and remove blockers
  • Drive decisions, ensuring that the resources required to implement the action will be available, and scheduling work required to achieve an end result.
  • Facilitate project ceremonies including stand ups, planning, post-mortems and retrospectives.
  • Proactively solve day-to-day problems and exercise good judgment, including the determination of when and how to escalate issues.
  • Help build out Project Management organization by contributing to efficient process creation and best practices documentation, and mentoring junior technical project managers.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in Technical Project Management
  • 3+ years of experience as a Manager
  • Experience building digital products and working with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient with Agile development practices
  • Positive and creative thinking with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills; strength in thinking ahead to identify problems forming before they become blockers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts
  • Comfortability translating stakeholder requirements into technical specifications
  • Experience using Jira/Confluence to track projects and document processes
  • Experience with Lean Project Management ideal
