Summary of role:

This role presents an exciting and challenging opportunity to an experienced Technical Lead who wants to work in a dynamic workplace environment with a real opportunity to positively influence the direction and outcome of strategic change programmes through best in class design thinking and practices.

The successful candidate will lead a technical team within the Customer domain taking responsibility for implementing appropriate end to end technology solutions. The role requires a recognised technical specialist who can provide technical insight, expertise and guidance to others. Working closely with Business and IT colleagues to analyse complex business issues and drive industry leading customer focused business outcomes.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can engage with, and influence as necessary, key business & IT stakeholders in the definition of requirements, and drive the design and implementation of appropriate technology solutions.
  • Will lead & motivate a team of IT Specialists in the delivery of multiple strategic and regulatory change initiatives in the Customer domain, as well as managing our existing technology estate.
  • Will deliver key strategic changes within the overall roadmap of the Customer Platform, utilising AIB’s development and infrastructure teams, as well as 3rd party vendors.
  • Can provide technical guidance, ensuring that the solutions we design and build are customer centric and aligned with AIBs Technology Strategy, Architecture principals and industry best practices.
  • Will manage the Risks, Resourcing and Budget requirements on assigned streams of work.
  • 10+ years enterprise technology experience, with a proven track record in the delivery of IT enabled change, with specific experience in Customer Systems Banking-related change.
  • A deep understanding of Application, Information and Infrastructure technologies & practices
  • Proven experience in management of cross functional engineering teams both offshore and onshore, with responsibility for technical leadership & direction, solution design and system assurance.
  • Strong technical expertise in software design and engineering, with database design & development experience essential.
  • Experience with agile & waterfall development methodologies and delivery frameworks
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues and strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences at senior levels within the bank.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal skills, to include collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation.
