Sr. Manager, Product Program Management

The Mission

The Product Program Management (PPM) team works to make our new product development top notch in the tech industry. We collaborate with product managers, engineering, sales and other cross functional teams to plan and launch programs, develop solutions and drive changes. HubSpot Product/Engineering highly values team autonomy. As a result, the PPM team need to be solution oriented (instead of process oriented) and impact driven. We are inspired to bring the minimal structure necessary to get things done. We foster a high-performing, productive and effective culture. 

The Opportunity

The product program management (PPM) team is the strategic partner for product managers. We own the program/project planning and delivery end to end. We make recommendations to help Product and Engineering leadership make decisions on critical programs. We have a young and fast growing team, and there are lots of white spaces to be defined. Our current PPM members are passionate about collaboration and eager to grow. They are adaptive to changes and open minded. 

Responsibilities

  • People manager for the product program management team. Own hiring, growth and development of a high performing team
  • Create short term and long term strategy to build the PPM team’s capabilities. Systematically operationalize the strategy to grow the team
  • Set high expectations and inspire the team to take on the ownership. Role model and coach team members on how to manage projects/programs effectively
  • Build strategic partnership with engineering, product management and other cross-functional leaders
  • Roll up sleeves to manage critical programs when needed. Execute the roll out of programs end to end: identify issues, propose solutions, work with cross functional stakeholders (e.g., engineers, PM, HR, Finance) to pilot solutions; roll out the solutions to the whole organization
  • Own the definition of success, and be accountable for influencing and partnering alongside cross-functional stakeholders to obtain results
  • Develop and execute solutions to improve the operations of the program management
  • Maintain a high velocity of support while balancing multiple channels of requests and communication from colleagues, Product/Engineering leaders, and employees

  • A sophisticated program manager who has demonstrated strong program management skills for new product development (e.g. change management, communications). Highly prefer leaders with technical program management experience
  • Deep understanding of the most common program management methodologies (e.g., Agile) and can use them effectively in practice
  • Have strong ownership and entrepreneurial spirit. Inspired to grow in a fast moving business environment 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to ensuring operational excellence 
  • A strong, pro-active communicator, both written and verbal. Can manage stakeholders’ expectations
