Sr. Engineering Manager, Cloud

Sr Engineering Manager with hands-on and design expertise building a data-lake in AWS, including designing, architecting solutions and building infrastructure for data storage, transformation, and maintaining datasets. Manage a team of software professionals including engineers, architects, technical writers and technical consultants who manage over many areas of the software lifecycle: design, developing, debugging, validating, and optimization, customer engagement and product support. This might include systems software, drivers, high performance computing, development tools, enterprise applications, consumer applications or user interfaces. May also provide architectural and technical guidance, and ensure that sound engineering practices are followed. Provide direction and goals to the group and work with partners.
About the role:

  • Detailed design evaluation and decisions for the cloud architecture, frameworks, protocols, APIs and cloud services.
  • Determine cloud design practices, development tools, and validation requirements
  • Along the dimensions of scalability, reliability, performance and cost consideration
  • Develop systems for highspeed data-processing and decision systems
  • Oversee the product design and completely oversee the technical road map for the product to make it best-of-the-breed
  • The technical and solution expert in the areas of all AWS services, Solution delivery and deployment, Big Data, AWS Data Services AI/Machine learning capabilities
  • Design End to End Solutions in the Cloud.
  • Evaluate technology being used in the environment and work with architect teams to ensure the best tools for the job are being used
  • Oversee the product and architectural road map
  • You will work with multiple technologists, the product management, product engineering and with Engineering to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.
  • Work with senior management and peers to develop practices which lead to the highest quality products and promote transformation change within the cloud
  • Inspire creativity & Research in the area of cloud operations and software engineering.
  • Implement Agile
  • Work with compliance/security to ensure that cloud adoption is managed / governed following industry standards
  • Motivate the scrum teams
  • Provide direct, honest, and constructive developmental feedback to achieve career growth
  • Will be a technical resource for the team regarding security, performance, deployment, troubleshooting, and effective testing of the full interaction the Cloud with our platform

About you :

  • You will have management abilities, with multiple years of experience as a Technologist and complex products
  • 12+ Years of technical experience with 4+Years in manager role.
  • You have managed the team of experienced folks in the area of AWS services, Solution delivery and deployment, Big Data, AWS Data Services AI/Machine learning capabilities
  • Work to deliver end-to-end Solutions in the Cloud.
  • Detailed design evaluation and decisions for the cloud architecture, frameworks, protocols, APIs and cloud services.

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and/or work experience
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in Network Administration/System Administration including experience with installation, service and administration of a medium to large multi-server environment
  • Minimum 2 years supporting and administering network devices and systems including: routers, firewalls, switches, or wireless access points
  • Knowledge of common network services like DNS, Web Servers (IIS, Apache), FTP Servers, Email Servers, and Database Systems Administration
  • Detailed knowledge and demonstrated experience with Windows Server logging and reporting concepts
  • Demonstrated experience with the Microsoft Windows & server platform
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience (PC hardware/software, browsers, etc)
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, SNMP, Syslog, SSH etc.
  • Experience in a 24/7/365 work schedule environment
  • Professional certifications are a plus: Network+, CCENT, CCNA, MCSE, etc.
  • Ability to support Portuguese, German or French speaking customers is a bonus
