The Infrastructure team leads the development and delivery of the power system and interconnection investment programmes in collaboration with partners, customers & communities.  We now seek a project manager in the Northern Ireland Infrastructure Projects Team. You will work with a team of engineers to deliver electricity infrastructure in Northern Ireland. 

Working with some of the largest technology and energy companies in the world, the role holder will project manage the connection of new generation and demand customers to the transmission network in Northern Ireland along with working to develop the backbone electricity grid as required. The role requires a high degree of proficiency in project management of large infrastructure projects and an understanding of the power system.

You will deliver on grid connection projects, successfully working with stakeholders to meet customer needs in line with company requirements and manage large-scale infrastructure project on-time and within budget, respecting established governance and controls.

We will look to you to take ownership of project delivery from project initiation to energisation and completion, determining project objectives, project charter and scope. You will monitor contractual aspects of customer connections ensuring that liabilities are adhered to and provisions met, continuously improving the way we work to make it more efficient, effective, transparent and easy to understand for non-technical audiences.

  • You will have an engineering degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years’ post qualification experience.
  •  You will have experience of project managing large infrastructure projects, balancing a proficiency in project management with a high-level understanding of power systems and experience using analysis coupled with professional judgement to make decisions which drive the delivery of large infrastructure projects.
  • You will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders and as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide own work under minimal supervision. 
  • You will excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience. 
  • A full, clean drivers’ licence is also essential for this role.
