Senior Technical Project Manager

Amach is an industry-leading software automation company with our head office in Dublin. We are currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager to manage projects within our customers software development portfolio based at Swords. The successful candidate will have 10+ years professional experience with at least 8 years in project management. Proven experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies (SDLC) is a must.

As part of this team you will have close interaction with internal and external stakeholders across the technology stack, to ensure projects are actively and successfully managed from initiation through to delivery.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will have responsibility for managing and reporting on the key performance criteria including scope, budget, schedule, quality and risks during the project management lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Ensure that projects achieve KPIs in line with agreed project targets and company KPIs
  • Monitor and control activities including regular reporting both internally and externally
  • Responsible for resource planning
  • Manage internal communication, ensuring all internal stakeholders are informed, consulted as appropriate on items of relevance through the lifecycle of the project.
  • Ensure best practices around risk management, reporting (internal, external) and communication are applied
  • Manage project delivery in adherence to industry standard project management procedures and practices
  • Responsible for project delivery risk and issue management, including the identification and implementation of risk and issue mitigating actions
  • Responsible for project cost management – including estimations and definition of project costs and plans and on-going robust cost management through project execution
  • Responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, to agreed levels of quality and within approved budget
  • Computer Science Degree / Software or Equivalent
  • Must be highly technical to manage skilled technical staff assigned to project
  • Excellent knowledge and proven experience of working with IT Software Development Lifecycle methodologies (SDLC) including Waterfall & Agile
  • Possess at least 10+ years of professional experience, with at a minimum of 8 years in project management
  • Experience in working with third party suppliers in the delivery of business or IT change initiatives
  • Advanced level of proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite – Including Project, Visio, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Experience of implementing Programs / projects with a budget of at least €5 million
  • Acute understanding and ability to demonstrate expertise in Quality Management, Project planning, Risk & Change management
  • A strong understanding of best practices, tools and techniques for project management and programme management with ability to continuously improve these processes
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally to Director level.
  • Adept at conflict management / resolution
  • Ability to make complex technology problems easily understandable to the business.
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders and to influence stakeholders in support of project delivery
  • An effective team manager with proven ability to build, motivate and support a high performing team
  • Strong listening, analytical, problem solving and with close attention to detail
