Your Role
As a Senior Risk Manager your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
Embed the ZIP Risk Management Framework
- Facilitate and monitor implementation of the ZIP Risk Management Framework (inc. Group Risk Management Framework)
- Facilitate effective monitoring of business area, business unit or function risk exposures against risk tolerance.
- Conduct risk assessments sessions (insurance and/or operational risk) with business area or function to contribute to a complete view of the relevant key risks.
- Apply a forward-looking approach to risk types within remit enabling continuous increase of ZIP’s overall maturity.
- Develop and enhance risk policies, frameworks, tools, and best practices within area of remit.
Develop Risk Insights
- Perform analytical activities and compile high-quality risk reports for decision taking by management.
- Conduct analysis for early identification of business area, business unit or function risks and issues. Ensure remediation actions are defined and monitored.
- Act as business partner to management of assigned area within business unit, business area or function providing challenge and risk insights in support of achieving business objectives.
Collaboration
- Partner with and advise business partners and other key stakeholders on risk and controls of risk types within remit
- Advise and support business partners as part of ongoing, high impact transformation activities on risk types within remit
- Advise management on risk-related standards/regulations to ensure compliance.
- Ensure strong position of risk management with management in the business unit, business area or function.
- Provide consistent, reliable, and timely risk information to relevant decision-making bodies.

- Enhance business relationships by engaging with relevant experts to support and ensure ZIP applies a holistic and risk integrated approach to the areas within the remit

- Resolve significant business issues by creating teams of appropriate internal stakeholders

Risk Types
- Insurance Risk and Operational Risk
Business Partners
- Group Risk Management, Branch CROs and Functional leaders (as required)
Culture and Awareness
- Provide risk training and ensure risk culture messaging is well understood and embedded within the business.
- Provide advice, direction and enhance awareness on specific risk matters.
As a Senior Risk Manager your skills and qualifications will include:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 10 or more years of experience in related field
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) and 10 or more years of experience in related field (Preferred)
- Relevant Risk Management Qualifications (not compulsory)
- Relevant risk management experience on strategic, tactical, and operational levels
- Excellent stakeholder communication experience
- Excellent understanding of operations within large organizations
- Experienced with project management
- Experience of influencing and directing multi-functional teams in a global environment
