This is a key role within the our growing Networks category. As the Senior Manager of the Radio Access Network deployment services you will be responsible for driving and overseeing the procurement strategy, process and activities in BT’s networks Category Management, Strategic Sourcing & Proc. Business Partnering practice. You will be responsible for procuring services that have a significant impact on many of the large mobile networks, working on innovative and meaningful projects including the 5G rollout and UK’s emergency services networks upgrade.

This role provides procurement insight for the development and implementation of procurement frameworks, policies and procedures for the RAN area. You will hold senior level relationships with key suppliers to ensure procurement competency and deliver value to BT and its customers as well as strong internal networks to ensure stakeholders’ buy in. 

You'll have the following responsibilities;

  • Proactively drive enforcement of Radio access Network category strategy, identify, and realise opportunities to improve service level and Total Cost of Ownership, mitigate supply risks
  • Recognised as an expert in BT and by our suppliers and industry peers, who can influence BT Group’s strategic sourcing agenda
  • Identify business improvements leveraging the commercial, design and process to minimise the Total Cost of Ownership
  • Lead regional and industry category teams with a clear vision, and drive enforcement of the category strategy and activities relevant to CFU and vertical, at a local and industry level, and deliver against key metrics
  • Oversight to ensure procurement processes and activities are compliant and adhered across teams
  • Build and maintain strong partnership with internal and external stakeholders and ensure continuous alignment
  • Drive category spend and performance, develop and deliver category strategy and long-term values, in collaboration with stakeholder community and suppliers, leveraging best practice procurement approaches and tactics
  • Determine the best approach to market, the optimum commercial models and supplier relationships for a product/service or sub-category to create maximum value
  • Provide guidance and input to develop and implement policies and frameworks underpin products and service delivery
  • Lead regional and industry category teams, setting regional targets and ensure strategy implementation at a regional level
  • Maintain internal and external networks, to ensure buy in and improvements of customer value and Total Cost of Ownership
  • Manage senior relationships with key suppliers, negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements, ensure required performance and contractual obligations are met, while incorporating new and innovative improvement initiatives
  • Devise negotiation strategies to achieve optimal outcomes, deliver with the right relationships / best skill sets across teams
  • Lead, develop and coach a team of procurement professionals to deliver brilliant outcomes for BT and customers
  • Significant experience within Telecoms/Networks, preferably Radio Access Networks
  • An experienced leader within the Procurement function, with strong leadership skills and the ability to lead, and deliver through high performance teams
  • Strong business expertise in Radio Access Networks, particularly around supplier capabilities, commercial models, product lifecycles and partner programmes required to deliver portfolio and customer requirements
  • Demonstrates a track record of decision-making capability and deliver against key metrics
  • Strong relationship management skills & ability to influence decision making with senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment
  • Ability to manage complex, strategic, and commercial requirements between BT and Suppliers, deliver projects and results on time and in full
  • Experience in business partnering and supplier relationship management
  • Demonstrates strong continuous improvement skills that exceeds customer expectations
