Senior Automation Engineer, Dublin – JO2108

About the Role:

Zenith Technologies are looking to hire a Senior Automation Engineer to be based with a leading Global Pharmaceutical Company based in Dublin, Ireland.

The Automation Engineer will be involved in supporting our highly automated plant-systems used onsite including (but not limited to) Siemens, Allen Bradley, DeltaV, Honeywell and OSI Historian software and hardware etc. Reporting to the Automation Lead, this role is part of core Engineering Team, supporting both sustaining activities & delivering on key CI projects as required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Must be solutions orientated, delivery focused and passionate about supporting production with technical support solutions.
  • Must be passionate about innovation and supporting the best technology solutions for the site.
  • Support multiple Automation projects & sustaining areas as required.
  • Develop the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the Maintenance and Operation of the Automated Systems.
  • Maintain the validated state of the automated systems.
  • Implement code / systems changes on the automation systems under change management / change control.
  • Participate in the development of the Automated System Life Cycle documents.
  • Working on site Automation Systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Any other activities as directed by the Automation Lead.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • At least 7 years direct Automation experience with Automation Engineering, Plant support solution development & qualification & field support in the biotechnology industry.
  • Experience in supporting DCS (DeltaV or Honeywell systems), PLC, OSI Historian, SCADA and HMI systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Field I&C (Instrumentation and Control) is advantageous in this role.
  • Strong Project coordinationmanagement experience is desirable.
  • Strong team player.
  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic or Chemical Engineering, or related field with substantial experience in this field and within a sustaining project environment.
  • We are looking for candidates with the following experience:
  • At least 5 years PLC SCADA Automation experience in the biotechnology industry.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong Project coordination management experience is desirable.
  • Strong PLC SCADA coding background is essential for this role.
  • Experience in supporting DCS (DeltaV or Honeywell systems), OSI Historian systems in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Experience with process plant commissioning.
