Product Development - Fund Accounting (Associate)

The JPM Product Development - Fund Accounting team is responsible for delivering solutions that drive business results for Fund Accounting and the Funds Services organization. The team actively manages budget and delivery of technology solutions primarily with the core accounting platform. The team partners closely with core accounting application vendor as well as operations and technology stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver solutions for JPMorgan and its clients.   

  • Project manage key initiatives in partnership with clients, operations, and technology teams to deliver technical and operating model solutions in delivering timely and accurate services for our clients.
  • Strong knowledge of Mutual Fund Accounting to include General Ledge accounting (Trial Balance, Sub Ledgers, Balance sheet vs. Income statement). The ability to determine downstream impacts of complex fund events.
  • Teamwork:  Support team during conversions  to include planning and testing prior to event.
  • Weekend availability is expected at times.
  • Flexibility – ability to work in a dynamic environment and accommodate changes in day-to-day workloads/requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Excel

Qualifications

  • 2-7 years of experience in Mutual Fund Operations/Securities Services
  • Have a thorough understanding of the theoretical and technical nature of mutual fund accounting and administration
  • Strong technical skills including accounting principles and theories
  • Ability to be effective in a global operating environment and a matrix management organizations
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships both internally and with external clients
  • Ability to lead and manage projects across servicing teams, including in partnership directly with clients.  
  • Analytical skills, problem solving, good critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Experience working across multiple business areas and/or functions to deliver results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; executive presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Relationship building skills - develop internal and external partnerships to drive results
  • Expert use of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and ability to present to senior management.
