Planning and Delivery Programme Manager

The Department
 

In this position, you will be joining a team of 20, made up of Project Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Business Analysts. Based in our Dublin Office, you will be part of a wider planning and Delivery department of 60, working across three sites including Madrid and Wroclaw.

Reporting to the Head of Planning and Delivery, this is a permanent position.

The Role
 

Ryanair Labs is a state of-the-art digital & IT innovation hub creatingEurope’s Leading Travel Experience for customers. As Programme Manager you will be responsible for project delivery on Ryanair’s industry leading Website and Mobile App, delivered through Ryanair Labs. You will work with internal business customers, delivery teams of Scrum Masters, BAs, Engineers, QA and where required manage external vendors across projects to ensure scope and delivery dates for projects are agreed and tracked, and that processes agreed for Website delivery are being adopted and optimised by each team. You will manage resourcing and delivery of the roadmap for Ryanair’s website and Mobile App. You will work with team members to ensure conditions are in place for them to contribute strongly to projects and map and achieve their career goals. You will report on status of delivery schedule to Head of Planning and Delivery along with accurate risks and issues for each project and ensure clear and practical action plans are in place to ensure timely delivery. Responsibilities

  • Work with Ryanair business representatives to agree program roadmap, project deliverables and delivery dates.
  • Work with Head of Planning and Delivery to agree high level deliverables and delivery plan and ensure required resources are available and deployed.
  • Work with Agile Delivery Leads to ensure initiatives are adhering to agreed processes and all onsite issues are being addressed.
  • Work with the team to promote a strong proactive agile work culture and establish Labs as centre of excellence closely aligned to Ryanair’s strategic and tactical goals.
  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning processes internally to ensure that work can be completed versus capacity and business need.
  • Work with team members in career planning and growth.
  • Strive to instil a continuous improvement mindset with team focussing on delivering software to production more frequently.
  • Ensure teams are focused on delivering and measuring business value through the use of A/B tests, small releases, segmented rollouts etc.
  • Driving the pursuit of the leanest MVP to prove business hypothesis.
  • Design, develop and execute ways of working experiments to find new ways to improve how we deliver software.
  • Coordinate cross team initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure accurate, up to date communication of initiative status.
  • 3-5 years Program Manager experience with responsibility for planning, resources, deadlines, delivery and handover to support.
  • 5+ years leading and supporting agile teams.
  • A deep understanding of the product development cycle from project inception to final delivery and continuous delivery.
  • The ability to motivate others to achieve complex and challenging objectives through an influential nature.
  • A proven ability to determine and report on key project metrics to stakeholders.
  • Experience reporting to C-suite executives.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good team player.
  • Budgeting experience.
  • Formal qualification such as PMP or PRINCE2 an advantage.
