Technical Lead/ Manager

Manager, Project Management

As a Manager on the Project Management team, you will oversee and collaborate with a segment of Project Managers within our Creative Team. We are a fast-growing team with great responsibility and visibility within Marketing, and we’re excited to bring in new leaders to enable Creatives and HubSpotters at large to deliver on our mission.

In this role, not only will you work closely with other managers and individual contributors on our PM team, but you’ll also be an indispensable partner to project leaders across Marketing, ranging from Directors up to SVPs, including leaders within the Creative Team - specialists in Design, Web Development, Video, and more.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Serve as a coach and a leader, helping to nurture and develop the skills of your team so they are able to achieve their career goals while increasing impact on the business.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, goal setting, career development, performance management, and growth of team members.
  • Partner with Marketing leaders to refine your team’s roadmap of work, and ensure that the work remains visible, documented, measurable, and trackable.
  • Regularly review and communicate project priorities, progress against KPIs, and staffing/ budget requirements, often for full Portfolios of projects.
  • Collaborate with the larger PM team to assess, develop, evolve, and document standard operating procedures and processes - encouraging alignment and consistency without stifling creativity and risk-taking.
  • Contribute to tight alignment between our core Creative disciplines of Design, Development, Video, and Project Management via strong project management, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Execute within the communication channels, tactics, and cadence used by the Creative Team to share the health and progress of the work - and suggest updates and refinements where appropriate.
  • Take pride in helping others grow, learn, and succeed, and have experience managing a team.
  • Are energized by being part of a team that is always looking for new ways to grow, evolve, and increase their impact.
  • Excel at prioritization and clearly understand tradeoffs and resource management - and can find creative ways to get work done if needed.
  • Can provide leadership, reassurance, and clarity in team meetings, and are comfortable doing so for senior stakeholders and direct reports alike.
  • Understand how our team’s projects fit into our larger strategy, and how to balance projects of varying levels of complexity.
  • Relish the idea of reducing the operational burden of the work we do, freeing up creatives to focus on their craft.
