WP Engine has an opportunity for a Manager of Engineering to lead a team of engineers that are utilizing an SRE mentality to craft, build, and maintain complex systems at scale. In this role, you’ll be responsible for shipping products of high quality, recruiting exceptional engineers, and motivating and leading engineering teams to do their best work! You’ll work closely with peers in product and program management to define and shape the overall product roadmap and ultimately deliver net positive impact to our customers and teams.

Day to Day

• Curating an engineering culture that is biased toward shipping while maintaining very high standards of quality
• Recruiting new WP Engine engineers from all backgrounds and establishing WP Engine as THE place to be if you’re an exceptional engineer interested in solving hard problems
• Leading all aspects of a team of 4-6 engineers while ensuring their productivity, happiness, and personal growth at WP Engine
• Balancing objectives set by executive management
• Partnering with product management to drive and measure impact that teammates are proud of

• 4+ years of engineering leadership experience leading productive, high-functioning teams, and can describe how you enabled their productivity
• Love helping engineers develop new skills and advance in their careers
• You have experience with cloud hosting providers, specifically compute technologies (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
• Passionate about fast feedback loops, faster time-to-market and better quality of delivery metrics
• Background in engineering and can understand and efficiently represent the details of the team’s work
• Familiar with working with APIs, CI/CD, Containerization, Kubernetes, and Agile development
• Proven servant leader to your team
