Role

You will be responsible for leading, specifying and coordinating the delivery of a mission critical software migration project. The project requires the person to delve into existing software and processes to gain a deep understanding of current operations, identify specifications and requirements as per the business needs and deliver a project proposal around existing in-house software systems and vendor specific options. Being able to work effectively with the existing team, get under the hood of a complex operating infrastructure and come up with objective requirements and deliverables will be key skills in being successful in this role.

You will have a third level qualification in an IT/Business related discipline, with a relevant Project Management certification (PPM/PMP or related Project Management methodology), and a demonstrated proven track record in IT Project Management.

You will have extensive experience of managing application development, software development and infrastructure delivery projects along with an extensive knowledge of scheduling and budgeting for IT project implementation. You will also have excellent technical and analytical skills with the ability to operate in a complex IT environment.

Most importantly, you will need to be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders to support the delivery of IT projects. You will need to have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills along with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide your own work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Technical ability to understand and create specifications around a critical and production environment software offering and its operating infrastructure.
• Utilises expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
• Communicates with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates.
• Has shared responsibility for budget, policy formulation and planning.
• Contributes to formulation of strategies for IT project leadership and other functional areas.
• Provides evaluative judgement based on analysis of information in complicated and unique situations.
• Define and write project plans and delivery requirements for complex data migration projects from in house software systems to third party solutions.
• Execution and delivery of complex data migration projects from in house software systems to third party solutions.
• Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
• Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, BIS or equivalent
• 5+ years' experience in a related technology role with commensurate people management experience.
• Experience in delivering the following type of projects: cloud software solutions, data migration, customer/portfolio migration.
• Knowledge in AWS, PHP, JIRA, MySQL and Agile practices.
• Skills & relative certification in Project management methodologies
• Extensive expertise in Risk & Issue management
• Environmental, health and safety training industry experience desirable
