About this role:

In this transformation role you are accountable for crafting and implementing a coordinated program of individual ground-breaking programs including Artificial Intraocular Lens (IOL) Molding, IOL Assembly Automation, IOL Packaging Automation, Sterilization Network Optimization and IOL Manufacturing Network Optimization.

 

The successful individual will have a technical background, detailed understanding of highly automated Supply Chains, a strong understanding of the intricacies of manufacturing, and a robust E2E Value Chain background. The successful candidate will also be able to work through ambiguity, demonstrate critical thinking, evaluate business impacts, and influence business priorities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

In this role you will build a highly connected project plan, governance structure, and decision-making processes to support the ground-breaking commitments made in the long range financial planning processes. 

You will identify risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and work with the individual project leaders to drive issue resolution, E2E Portfolio team to prioritize critical initiatives as part of the Strat Plan, LRFP & Business Planning process cycles.

Primary cross-functional partners include R&D, Source, Plan, Quality, Make, & Deliver. Additional important relationships include Global & Regional commercial & finance partners.

In addition:

  • Lead through analytical thinking and data driven decision making
  • Detailed project planning and execution
  • Leads program management activities across the areas of E2E Supply chain inc. cost by finding opportunities and implementing projects. 
  • Resolve issues in alignment with business objectives and metrics
  • Manages progress through appropriate governance, develops and program plans, in alignment and support of customer objectives, addresses roadblocks and opportunities, communicates updates to business leaders, and delivers on programs commitments
  • Participates on the JJVC E2E SC, Portfolio & Risk Management Teams, influencing the development of operating models, strategic plans, and business priorities

Experience, skills & proficiencies required:

  • Bachelor’s degree within a technical or engineering subject area is preferred
  • A proven career to date in R&D and/or Supply Chain is required as is strong skills in complex project management
  • Experience in High-Speed Automation Engineering and Product/Process Development is required
  • Previous experience within a highly regulated industry is preferred (FDA, CE…)
  • Experience working within the Medical Device industry is preferred; experience with high volume medical device products is an asset
  • Ability to build consensus and collaborative relationships; to lead teams through influence rather than authority.
  • Detail and solution oriented with ability to work within broad guidelines and exercise considerable initiative, judgment, and decisiveness.
  • Approximately 25% domestic and international travel is required.
