We have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to take up the Grid Integration Lead role to lead the Grid Integration workstream, and to design and implement the people and supplier processes required to support the Offshore Programme in delivering the goals of the CAP / DECC Policy and preparing EirGrid for offshore transmission asset ownership.

The Grid Integration Lead will provide Thought Leadership in our approach to grid integration preparations, covering also governance and cross functional decision making of the full project Auction-Development-Construction-Commissioning process.  

We will look to you to make decisions on behalf of the Group reflecting its strategic ambitions which will require collaboration across the Group, specifically between the Infrastructure and Operations Offices.

You will provide cross functional consultation to communicate quality objectives, plan and execute approval and due diligence schedules, and provide technical analysis to cost modelling for Asset Acquisition and Regulation, and agree consensus with all parties. Associated quality control to ensure audit compliance with all of the above will also be core to the role.

You will be the key point of contact with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities and Department of Energy, Climate and Communications to support in the development of offshore regulatory frameworks and route to market for developers as pertains to the development of offshore transmission assets. You will be the authoritative voice at meetings with internal and external stakeholders for communicating the connection process.
 

You will be required to represent the group externally and use your influencing and monitoring skills to ensure timely decision making and communication of EirGrid’s position on key areas in development of offshore transmission assets.

You will have an engineering degree or equivalent with typically 8+ years’ years relevant experience with a holistic understanding of the power industry.

You will have proven experience of managing a portfolio of largescale projects – overseeing the delivery of complex solutions and an ability to drive successful outcomes. You will be an excellent communicator, able to articulate technical concepts and analysis to non-technical audiences and business leaders.

You will have expertise in conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of doing things to solve business problems along with a strong understanding of the requirements of offshore stakeholders and industry for the transmission system and associated developments.

Most importantly, you will be passionate, engaging with a drive and enthusiasm to deliver on the company strategy with and through others.
