Overview of the role:

The Planner is responsible for the planning, development and scheduling of all maintenance activities on plant equipment in line with details in the site CMMS system, as well as any follow-up activities required. 

 

 The Planner will ensure that all work orders are closed, review data trends after maintenance work is done and review any aspects of the maintenance activities that need changing to make the process more efficient.


 

Day to day of the role

  • Development and planning of Maintenance programs in accordance with cGMP regulations, applicable safety considerations, WI’s and SOPs.
  • Planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities on-site, including scheduling of sub-contractors to ensure full on time compliance with maintenance and calibration intervals.
  • Liaising with site planners and other relevant site personnel to ensure maintenance windows align with site production schedule.
  • Manage Site CMMS System for all equipment under scope
  • Ensure all assets are accounted for on system – Establish Parent/Child relationship
  • Ensure information is correct and current
  • Ensure maintenance plans are in place for each asset where appropriate
  • Ensure prompt and timely opening and closing of Work Order’s
  • Coordinate any call-out service contracts in line with PM schedules
  • Establish and Report Key Performance indicators on a weekly and monthly basis to the Manager
  • Assist in the handover process where key deliverables relating to the planning role must be reported and documented.
  • Support the performance of corrective and preventive maintenance, resource planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
  • Develop standard hours for maintenance tasks.
  • Development and implementation of systems for scheduling and documenting the performance of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, parts change out and calibrations.
  • Support the trending and analyzing of performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of calibration and maintenance systems.
  • Utilize software programs designed to support the planning and scheduling of Maintenance and Calibration activities.
  • Arrange all Area & System Shut-Downs in accordance with cGMP
  • Ensure all Maintenance documentation is completed month on month
  • Ensure subcontractor documentation is current and up-to-date:
  • Permits and associated safety documentation, Method Statements, Risk Assessments etc.
  •  Site required training
  •  Sub-contractor personnel have the relevant site access
  • Develop knowledge of system interdependencies and identification of potential downtime
  • Implement and participate in reliability programs
  • Participate in local reviews of maintenance performance data using published maintenance excellence KPI results, areas that will be reviewed and improvements sought:
    • - Spares cost
    • - High levels of paperwork
    • - PM:CM ratio
    • - Maintenance man-hours per equipment/system
    • - MTBF
    • - MTTR
    • - Equipment reliability trends
      • Spares/Stock Keeping
      • Record spares usage using data taken from CMMS.
      • Set up stores to promote easy identification of parts
      • Develop Min/Max stock quantities
  • Educated to trades / diploma / degree level
  • Have good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
