Global Cyber Security Engineer

Designs and builds secure system infrastructures and architectures by establishing business requirements, translating them into secure technical solutions, and testing and ensuring the performance and capacity of security solutions.

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.

Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Take part in mentoring/knowledge sharing with other team members when necessary.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Participates as a member of the Global Cyber Security engineering team to implement tools internally, SaaS solutions, as well as on private/public cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with architecture group and operations team to implement designs into production solutions.
  • Support and contribute to Global Security initiatives, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide IT security-related consulting, guidance, and support to customers and stakeholders.
  • Build collaborative relationships and work effectively with peers, management, and internal teams.
  • Stay abreast with emerging IT and cyber security technologies as well as their impact on the security landscape.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Solid understanding of security functions in common IT infrastructures such as Windows, Linux, Authentication protocols, Private/Public cloud services, and SaaS.
  • Understanding of security fundamentals and general security technologies, including: network security controls (firewalls, VPNs, IPSec, IDS/IPS), physical security, cryptography, authentication, identity management, network communication ports and protocols, etc.
  • Experience with endpoint security and/or email security a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English language.
  • Excellent time management and coordination skills to plan and organize overall project success.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and rationalization skills

  • Good decision-making abilities
  • Ability to build relationships, engage and influence others and work with diverse teams.

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • At least 6 years of related experience in information security and/or IT infrastructure fields with a Bachelor’s degree or 5 years experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Experience in IT system infrastructure and endpoint implementations.
  • CISSP, CISM, CCSK or other Security and IT certifications a plus.
