Engineering Program Manager (Contract)

At Cloudera we not only strive to ship amazing products, but to have internal processes that enable our employees to work as efficiently as possible.  In this role you will work with the Engineering Chief of Staff who is responsible for managing budget and headcount, driving internal engineering communications, tracking internal metrics, driving process improvements,  representing engineering cross functionally and managing special projects. 

 

In this role you will be able to impact the entire organization by driving programs around communications, collaborating on training and enablement and representing Engineering in cross functional projects.  We also partner with the rest of Cloudera organizations such as HR, Recruiting, Finance, Marketing, IT and Support to ensure operational excellence. 

 

This would be a 9-12 month contract position.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Partnering with the Engineering Chief of Staff to drive communications across Engineering. This includes managing team collaboration spaces, building regular newsletters, representing engineering in cross functional communication activities, driving town halls and working with engineering leaders to understand communications gaps and develop plans to fill them
  • Participating in the digital workplace team in rolling out the Digital Workplace strategy, developing and updating the company intranet portal and assisting in audit-related activities in retiring old legacy systems used by the Engineering community 
  • Content manager for Engineering communications and collaboration spaces 
  • Maintain a strong relationship with Engineering teams & other key business units across Cloudera to support requirements and scale collaboration processes and operational best practices 
  • Management of key Engineering initiatives and special programs  
  • Coordination of employee engagement activities for Engineering on a monthly / quarterly basis 
  • Past experience in internal operations preferably in a technical department and proven ability to drive internal programs.  Experience in working with operational metrics is a plus. 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and be effective working a team environment
  • Ability to make decisions with incomplete data
