DESIGN LEAD - ACCENTURE INTERACTIVE IRELAND

We are part of the fastest growing service in Accenture and in Smithfield we are home to 180 technologists, creatives, designers, producers, to name a few. Together we work to solve our clients often complex problem and seek to outpace the change in the global marketplace.  Currently our team is made up of world class creative agency, Rothco, a life science team and a growing Accenture Interactive team. Our clients include Diageo, AIB, Google, Stripe, Airbnb, ESB, Tesco, Meta.

Right now, we are looking for a leader. A leader who will grow our existing team of 11 designers and create a best-in-class design team across Experience Design, Service Design and Product creation. This is an exciting opportunity to create and lead a new practice.

 

Design Leader

 

Design Leadership drives creativity and innovation at all levels. Our Design Leadership invests itself in strengthening the relationships between our teams, our clients, our work, and the people who use our products and services every day.

 

As a Design Lead, you’ll own the design practice and delivery across one or more projects. You’ll be responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary design teams to create ideal solutions for clients. You’ll also build and manage the team in collaborate with primary stakeholders, and work with program leadership to plan future projects.

 

This is your opportunity to play a role in positioning design as a new capability in Interactive Ireland and communicate strongly on the value of design to our Accenture and clients in a leadership role.

As a Design Lead, you:

  • Set the standards that others will follow.
  • Create the vision for a team of world class designers.
  • Drive design quality, practice, and offerings that meet business and user goals as well as create new offerings.
  • Engage with our clients at 1C-Suite level.
  • Lead design points of view, proposal creation, and relationship management.
  • Deeply understand the market and can speak to our clients and the industry about our content, craft, and trends.
  • Own craft and capability output across key projects, ensuring each project deliverable is of the highest quality.
  • Assess performance and provide career guidance and performance decisions for members of the team.
  • Provide directional oversight of individual project team's work and assume overall accountability for it.
  • Develop project approaches that lead to exciting, inspiring, and well-shaped work for our Design team.
  • Cultivate relationships with new and existing stakeholders & clients.

  • Build and strengthen the multidisciplinary skillsets of design teams across the studio.
  • Pioneer our Design approach and align this with senior stakeholders across Accenture.
     

 Set yourself apart:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research.
  • Mastery in two to three areas of expertise such as Business Design Service Design, Systems Design, Visual Design, Data Design, Interaction Design, or Content Design.
  • Proven history of managing cross-functional teams to create a powerful, effective, and coherent design solution.
  • Highly proactive with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Your experience: 

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience; 6+ years leadership/management experience; demonstrated experience leading multiple cross-discipline teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a design discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
