Bid Manager - Pursuits Lead (Manager)

Deloitte Ireland’s Consulting practice is currently searching for an experienced candidate to support our pursuits and business development activities. This is a management-level role within our Pursuits Centre of Excellence. Reporting directly to the Head of the PCoE you will be responsible for supporting the development of pursuit strategies and advising and supporting the wider Consulting team through all stages in the pursuit cycle using leading practice methodologies and sales models. 
In collaboration with strategic client teams, you will be responsible for creation and management of compelling and differentiated propositions to our clients. You will support the management of the entire proposition from the point where the opportunity is identified, through to strategy development, overseeing document delivery, and supporting preparation of the team to deliver a strong, differentiating presentation. For our most strategic and larger scale pursuits, you will have the opportunity to work with a wider team of partners, directors and senior bid managers, that will help you hone your skills and expertise.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage pursuits to strengthen Consulting’s pursuit capability across the pursuit life-cycle and drive a higher win rate on key opportunities.
  • Assist the opportunity lead and client programme team in crafting a compelling value proposition, winning messages, and a differentiated strategy for the specific opportunity.
  • Develop and own the pursuit plan, establish key milestones and deliverables, and monitor assignments through the pursuit life-cycle.
  • Provide oversight and quality review for proposal and presentation documents, design approach, risk reviews, and ensure strategic messaging is represented in all deliverables.
  • Bring best practices from other pursuits and extended pursuit networks to assist in closing content gaps.
  • Editing, formatting and proofing content written by other team members
  • Facilitate leadership and internal quality reviews, monitor the development of resource and pricing models, and coordinate leadership pricing and quality calls.
  • Flag and escalate issues to the opportunity lead and Lead Engagement Partner.
  • Manage pursuit meetings and logistics.
  • Work in conjunction with the wider client and industry team to support production of printed and/or multi-media materials.
  • Assist and support select learning and development initiatives to build and enhance Deloitte’s sales excellence capabilities across the firm.
  • 5+ years experience in bid/proposal writing for a professional services organization (consulting, legal, architecture/construction, etc)
  • Experience with narrative storytelling a plus
  • Exceptional communication written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp specialist knowledge and make it clear for external parties
  • Strong executive presence
  • Agility and speed in executing strong writing
  • Experience and foresight to anticipate potential issues and devise contingency plans
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and multitask within a fast-paced, challenging, and deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work within a provided strategic direction
  • Ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills required
  • Negotiation and presentation skills are a plus
  • Flexibility and adaptability required
