SVP - Global Data Architect, Securities Services Technology

Securities Services Technology is seeking a Data Architecture Lead who will be responsible for designing and implementing the data architecture that underpins SST’s Data and Digital strategy. The candidate will work closely with product, operations, and technology partners to develop the next generation data platform to support new products and services. The candidate will also significantly contribute to solutions and design of new builds for the Data and Digital offering. The role will cover solutions across all Securities Services products. The candidate will be on the cutting edge of new digital innovations and will help to evolve and transform the Securities Services business. The global nature of the role will require excellent navigation and communication skills across business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide thought-leadership in evolving the data landscape and how it applies to the Securities Services business.
  • Lead a small and highly accomplished technology team of architects encompassing data modelling, data quality and data management.
  • Lead the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns and IT practices. This will include standards for data artefacts – data dictionaries, input file formats, output file formats and the use of data modelling, lineage reporting and metadata related tools.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how different areas of technology, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
  • Apply Citi’s Enterprise architecture principles to solve every day and/or complex company issues.
  • Create detailed data flow diagrams and design across a complex integration footprint.
  • Develop and maintain the IT asset register and the data lineage across the applications for SST.
  • Define and maintain standard entities, related to Investment and Fund Accounting, Custody, Transfer Agency and their corresponding dictionaries.
  • Design and management of physical architecture including hardware, capacity planning, and performance of various systems, in conjunction with the infrastructure and environment management team.
  • Conduct design reviews with the development teams and identify the upstream and downstream dependencies.

  • 10+ years’ experience building and maintaining applications in the financial services industry, with extensive knowledge of Securities Services products and service offerings.
  • Industry knowledge of Securities Services products and service offerings with in-depth knowledge in one of Fund/Investment Accounting, Fund Administration, Middle Office, or Custody Services.
  • Be an expert of data architecture patterns enabling digital transformation.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in modernization of data platforms, embracing cloud native technologies and use of integrated cloud data platform.
  • Expert knowledge of various components of data platform and their purpose. Understand the use-cases for Cloud, Big Data, Operational data stores, Events stores and object storage.
  • Expert knowledge of design patterns underpinning Cloud data platform (Snowflake), data lake, No-SQL datastores, relational databases and object storage.
  • Expert knowledge of Domain driven, and Events based architecture patterns.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise level data integration patterns, and experience of Kafka based integration.
  • Strong understanding and experience of enterprise metadata management tools used for data governance, catalog, lineage, and data quality. Experience of using Collibra or IBM Information Governance catalog will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and exposure to advanced technologies leveraging data such as Natural language processing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and predictive analytics.
  • Experience with enterprise metadata management tools, JIRA and MS project plan.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field, Masters desirable.
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or IBM Certified Data Architect – Big Data desirable.
  • Agile certification desirable.
