Senior Risk Analyst, Mortgage Lending Unit

Within Risk, the Mortgage Lending Unit provide an independent second line review of Home Mortgage credit applications at agreed Dual Credit Authority (DCA) levels for business areas including Branch Banking, Mortgages Direct, EBS and Haven Intermediaries.

 

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Operating a second line DCA to underwrite, assess and decision allocated credit applications, in line with all prevailing credit policies, relevant processes and procedures.
  • Ensure timely turnaround of assessment, including demonstrating strong productivity in line with the prevailing Mortgage Lending SLA, processes and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant first and second line business areas on lending propositions in order to provide structured, consistent and tailored review and challenge.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus and knowledge of relevant customer conduct considerations and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a wider team of c.55 credit risk professionals, across all aspects of mortgage and personal lending decisions.
  • Operate a people leader and coaching role with particular attention to mentoring and development of junior staff members.

  1. Have 3+ years proven mortgage underwriting credit skills;
  2. Have the ability to operate lending discretion (€750k+) displaying high standards of professionalism;
  3. Have a detailed understanding of regulation and prudent lending criteria and ability to apply regulation and policy to all types of mortgage credit applications;
  4. Be solution focused with strong interpersonal skills and evidence of ability to interact, engage and influence;
  5. Demonstrate flexibility and a strong team ethic with willingness to coach and mentor junior staff and work across different teams when need arises; and
  6. Demonstrate an ability to constructively consider existing processes and identify, recommend and implement efficiencies and changes to improve outcomes for the Bank and the customer.
