As Senior Lead Analyst, your responsibilities will include leading the Network Code implementation process including the Connection Codes, Market Codes, System Operations Codes and the Clean Energy Package. You will lead the delivery of EirGrid and SONI’s obligations under the EU’s energy regulations (or equivalent in Northern Ireland). While the primary focus will be on operational compliance, this activity will have significant overlap with market related compliance requirements.

You will lead the development of EirGrid Group’s effective strategy on compliance with the SOGL whilst having regard for interactions with other relevant network codes, particularly in relation to CACM, Electricity Balancing Guidelines and the Clean Energy Package.

We will look to you to review and assist in the introduction of new tools and technologies as appropriate, particularly as they relate to the Common Grid Model (CGM) and Regional Operational Security Coordination (ROSC) and to represent EirGrid & SONI on key pan-European TSO committees and working groups set up to realise the development of a well-functioning Europe-wide electricity power system and market.

  • You will have a degree in engineering or a closely related discipline with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar analyst role.
  • You will have strong technical knowledge of the configuration and operation of the Ireland and Northern Ireland transmission systems.
  • You will have experience in a multidisciplinary environment and excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities, coupled with the ability to make reasoned judgements based on available information.
  • You will have an expert understanding of the all island power system and market, as well as associated codes, rule books and operational, commercial and legal frameworks.

You will be an experienced relationship builder and effective collaborator, capable of delivering shared goals with internal and external stakeholders through open dialogue and have credibility and sound judgment, able to influence others outside of one’s own control, including peers.
