Job summary
The Red Hat Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Business Finance team is looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Financial Business Analyst to join us in Farnborough, Ireland. In this role, you will support our Vertical Sales team across multiple financial requirements related to fiscal year planning, forecasting, and performance reporting. You will serve as a trusted adviser to sales leaders and their existing support network in providing data-driven insights that guide prioritization and decisions that generate desired business outcomes. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities
- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting and analysis to key stakeholders
- Develop an expert-level understanding of Red Hat’s workflows, policies, and business rules
- Analyse monthly and quarterly variances, historical trends, quarter-over-quarter and year-on-year analysis to provide visibility and recommendations to key stakeholders
- Provide forecast and pipeline analytics that will improve the leadership team’s ability to guide the business and surpass targets
- Communicate and cooperate with team members and business partners across locations to accomplish goals and generate, validate, publish, and deliver reports
- Participate in various structured and ad hoc projects to support key stakeholders
- Continuously look for ways to improve productivity or the level of services provided to the business
- Work under tight deadlines and for extended hours during quarter and year-end periods as needed
- Bachelor or master’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally with a software or subscription model business in a sales supporting role
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to quickly learn business rules and processes in order to generate the required business insight
- Experienced in building relationships and cooperating with sales and operations team members to gather key information to deliver data-driven analysis, insights, and recommendations
- Proficiency in extracting and handling large datasets from multiple sources, conducting analysis, and building user friendly reports, scorecards, and dashboards
- Ability to concurrently use different tools, e.g., Amazon Redshift, SAP Business Objects (BOBJ), Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, and Tableau or Anaplan, and techniques to generate the actionable insights
- Experienced SQL user with demonstrated ability to query datasets
- Technical skills to manage automation and efficiencies like Python
- Previous experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC) is a big plus
- Experience with SAP BOBJ, Tableau, or Anaplan is a plus
