Team Description:

Part of the Risk & Compliance function, the Credit Risk team drives a proactive approach to credit risk management and promotes a strong risk and asset quality management culture. The team is a 2nd line of defense function and is charged with managing credit risk and overseeing the end-to-end credit processes in Elavon.

Primary responsibilities of the team are:

  • Developing credit policy and standards for Elavon’s credit activities.
  • Monitoring and oversight of credit quality and composition across the European credit portfolios.
  • Provision of credit risk management expertise regarding portfolio composition, reporting, expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approval of Elavon’s largest corporate customers.
  • Engaging directly with regulators on credit risk matters.

 

Role Description:

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract and provides flexibility with hybrid working options available.

The Risk Analyst will be involved in the holistic management of credit risk through management of risk data, performing analytical tasks and supporting a broad range of credit risk management activities. The role holder will report to the Portfolio Risk Manager and directly assist with the delivery of the second line credit risk management programme. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to advance their risk, banking and payments industry knowledge. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting the Portfolio Risk Manager during activities such as calibrating key risk indicators, risk-based modelling, analysing portfolio trends, and stress testing.
  • Reporting on credit risk model effectiveness, including maintenance of relevant documentation.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve policies, processes, and protocols to prudently manage credit risk in Elavon.
  • Serve as primary point of contact to provide ad-hoc and regular risk support across the Credit Risk team.
  • Tracking and managing monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Working closely with US-based risk colleagues and the lines of business to obtain portfolio insights.
  • Undertake and manage ad hoc credit risk projects for the Head of Credit, as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Studies or Computer Science or similar.
  • One to two years’ relevant risk work experience preferred.
  • A determined problem solver with a strong analytical skillset and report writing capabilities.
  • Experience (through studies/work) in performing data analysis.
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, Power Point is essential (knowledge of PowerBI is a benefit).
  • Experience in SQL and SAS programming is an advantage (or alternatives such as Python, R etc.).
