Risk Analyst, Mortgage Lending Unit

The Mortgage & Personal Lending Unit is an independent, second line of defence function that review and challenges new money proposals under Individual Discretion Limit (IDL) or Dual Credit Authority (DCA) for mortgage and consumer lending credit applications at agreed levels for business areas including AIB Homes, EBS, Haven, Branch Banking, Direct Banking, Online and F&L Intermediaries.

 

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Assess and recommend credit applications that qualify as prudent mortgage and personal lending, in line with the prevailing credit policies (Group Credit Policy, Residential Mortgage Policy, and Personal Lending Policy etc), processes and procedures.
  • Provide a professional lending service while applying appropriate and effective credit governance and standards.
  • Ensure timely turnaround of assessment, including demonstrating strong productivity in line with the team Service Level Agreements, processes and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain direct relationships with key stakeholders in business areas on lending propositions in order to provide structured, consistent and tailored review and challenge of proposed lending applications.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and compliance with all lending policies and guidelines.

  1. Have a proven high level of Mortgage or Personal Credit Skills with ability to operate lending discretion with good commercial awareness.
  2. Display evidence of high standards of professionalism in relation to Credit and compliance with all governance, regulation, policies and standards.
  3. Be solution focused with strong interpersonal and negotiating skills and evidence of ability to interact, engage and influence.
  4. Have an ability to interpret and understand complex credit cases to be in a position to provide informed advice and/or approval in relation to credit decisions.
