Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Research is looking for outstanding candidates with a strong research and innovation track record in the area of AI for Internet of Things. The candidate should have deep knowledge in machine learning for time series data, semantic modelling and reasoning and/or optimization for IoT systems with applications in industry 4.0, asset management, sustainable computing or geospatial systems. The position is open to early career or experienced professionals.

In this role you will be joining a strong and motivated team that is combining these methods to automate AI for IoT systems. Our team is leading the research on Digital Twins and Future of Infrastructure in IBM with multiple projects in collaboration with Business Units, IBM Research Labs and academic partners to innovate science and IBM products in these areas. You will be working in a stimulating environment leveraging cross-disciplinary expertise in science and technology.

In your role as a Research Scientists, you will define and perform cutting-edge research and publish your research at top venues and journals in AI, IoT and sustainable computing. With your proactive and collaborative approach to creative problem solving you will be driving new research areas. You are willing to engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, plan a research agenda, provide advice to business units based on research results, and help transfer research technologies for adoption. Our ambitious AI research agenda is both broad and deep, with leading edge projects in many areas such as automated AI, knowledge graphs, graph neural networks. Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• A Master/PHD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering Disciplines
• Evidence of applying AI algorithms in the field of IoT
• An outstanding publication record at top-tier conferences/journals
• Demonstrated ability to tackle complex problems derived from real-world usecases and design, build and validate

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Expertise and experience in programming in one or more of these languages: Python, Java, Javascript, C++
• Demonstrated experience with DevOps and AI Ops
• Experience analyzing large scale data from a variety of sources
