Principal Business Analyst - Finance People Operations

About the Role

This is a hybrid role that combines technical expertise, project management and creative problem solving all in one! This role will be a lead on large cross-functional project initiatives for FPO and support the organization’s growth by collaborating with our business partners. This is an exciting role that provides individuals an opportunity to gain technical expertise by providing hands on help and drive engagement within the FPO teams.

 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build strong working relationships with FPO teams and cross-functional business partners to drive alignment and key project objectives
  • Act as FPO single point of contact for core project team and project sponsors and support decision making
  • Hold internal scrum meetings with functional leads to ensure project details are passed on to FPO partners
  • Develop a detailed project plan to supervise and track progress
  • Work closely with FPO team leads to document impact and proactively plan for any risks and resourcing limitations
  • Work with all FPO teams to facilitate discovery and develop end to end business requirements for assigned projects
  • Act as a liaison between functional, technical, and management to ensure understanding and alignment with regards to requirements, testing, and project sign-off
  • Create and maintain test scripts for the relevant functional areas
  • Test bug fixes and new functionality; partner with relevant functional team to acquire confirmation of acceptance
  • Coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Set timelines, assign responsibilities and supervise and summarize progress of project
  • Work with the relevant departments to resolve all issues that could impact project objectives
  • Anticipate and raise issues with projects to management and project owners. Build a proposal to minimize risks and come up with problem resolution
  • Be a creative problem solver and provide support in times of stress
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

  • 10+ years of experience in Business Analysis or Project Management roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in relatable field
  • Functional knowledge in 2 or more of the following areas: Payroll, General Ledger, Stock Admin, Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Timekeeping
  • Experience implementing Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or similar application

Other Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Experience in using Project Management tools like Asana, Smartsheets etc.
  • Professional user of Microsoft Office tools
  • A strong presenter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-pace, collaborative environment
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and follow-through
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills
