Ops Sr Analyst

Role Description:

This role is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to work in a dynamic team as part of the Debt Trades Processing and Settlement group. The team provides support to various Fixed Income Trading Desks who trade across global markets for EMEA based clients. The role involves facing off with many different business lines, gaining exposure to a multitude of systems.

In this position you will be a point of contact for EMEA institutional client base for trade allocation, confirmation and settlement related queries within BAML across product, market, entity, trade status. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role supporting our Sales Trading Desks as well as working closely with our client relationship managers.

You will be on hand to offer premium client service and deal with all client queries and manage the relationships between our clients and internal BAML departments. Additional responsibilities will include facing off to the Front Office, dealing with queries, ensuring benchmarks are met, ensuring periodic functions are performed in strict accordance with timelines and checklists, managing inbox queries and issues and following process control standards on all tasks and duties performed.

The successful candidate will be pro-active with an analytical approach to work. The individual will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written and be able to work in a pressurized environment whilst maintaining an attention to detail. Up to date market knowledge on key initiatives and developments within the clearing and settlement space is preferable

The Team:

This role is specific to our EMEA FICC Transaction Services Team and we provide primary middle/back office support for a variety of London Desks including Credit, Rates, Distressed, Repo and Emerging Markets etc. The trade life cycle is covered from execution to confirmation

  • Clear communicator both written and verbal with both internal departments and external clients / counterparties
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills, manage and resolve queries independently
  • Excellent Client focus - ability to build solid relations with internal and external clients to provide top tier client service
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of the firm and people with different experiences and backgrounds.

Desirable:

  • Market related experience with knowledge of Fixed Income
  • Previous experience working in a Client facing environment
  • Understanding of the front to back securities trade flow
  • Previous experience of working in an Operations environment
  • Knowledge of Vendor platforms such as OMGEO CTM and Bloomberg
  • Previous experience within a client service team
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk, Client Money Protection and Funding
  • Knowledge of the workings of EMEA markets e.g. buy-in risks, settlement fines, market nuances
  • Experience of working with salespeople / traders.
