ICT Business Development Manager

About this role

This role fulfils a critical component of BT’s full-service offer to customers for their global infrastructure and IT product requirements.

You'll be working within the Business Sales team to unlock IT product sales across this growing global and national customer account base. Selling the full range of technology products focussing on customer infrastructure needs including solutions from HP, Apple, Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, Nutanix and Lenovo.

You'll be responsible for new business sales either directly or indirectly through supporting the Account Directors and Acquisition team in a broad range of both major existing and new accounts. Actively developing and closing sales through sustained prospecting and activity. 

 

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • A key indicator of your success will be exceeding your sales targets, for your defined base of customer opportunities with the ICT product portfolio.
  • You'll develop and influence incremental sales opportunities across the ICT portfolio to create and maintain pipeline to acheive annual targets.
  • Develop and drive sales plans with Account Managers to retain existing ICT business and develop and grow new revenue.
  • You'll be accountable for developing and maintaining an accurate forecast and qualified /robust pipeline.
  • Work with finance and Pricing to understand the P&L for the customer solutions being sold, margins on all deals are maximised and component pricing parameters are aligned to market expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of the BT propositions.
  • Ensure internal business responsibilities are completed including Salesforce, forecasting, reporting, Altify account reviews, account development plans and opportunity pipeline management.
  • Either Engineering, Science or Computing degree, or relevant ICT sales experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience of delivering financial targets. 
  • Experience leading a customer-facing sales team, directly or indirectly, where you carried revenue and sales targets.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of ICT proposition and the business outcomes they deliver to customers, as well as an understanding of DyNS, Digital Workplace, Customer Contact, Security, Hosting and Cloud. 
  • Strong experience in B2B sales, characterised by consultative selling to senior-level management that resulted in complex technical project delivery. 
  • Ability to create logical and detailed account/opportunity plans with defined proactive actions.
  • Rigorous follow up of agreed actions and operational sales requirements e.g. CRM (Salesforce), forecasting, bid review etc.
