Finance Data & Analytics Scientist

Your role

  • Analysis of business requirements to assess data availability and define reporting requirements in conjunction with other stakeholders.
  • Translate the business reporting requirements into a reporting and data analysis approach and roll out continuous reporting improvements to the Finance Business Partner team, FP&A, Financial Reporting, Finance Operations and Revenue Accounting Teams.
  • Support the delivery of a single, consistent, accurate and reconciled source of data for MI, Analytics and Reporting.
  • Develop tools for enhanced reporting, such as Excel add-ins, automation feeds, visualisation of data via dashboards.
  • Implement accurate and on-time delivery of fit-for-purpose reporting solutions, with a high attention to detail and ease of support/scalability.
  • Identify inefficiencies and data gaps in the current business model/processes and support implementation of solutions to those inefficiencies.
  • Assist and develop reporting needs to support implementation of transformation projects such as the Joint Business from a finance perspective into Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Evaluate new technologies and build prototypes for continuous improvements across finance working closely with the Tech data team to productionise such as chargebacks, Treasury cashflow reporting, project spend tracking and balance sheet reconciliation automation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure that the data is interpreted and validated correctly and work with them to develop an improved data process.
  • Develop automation as feasible to drive data solutions.
  • Min Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Business or Accounting with 6+ years’ experience in data analytics and MIS.
  • Knowledge of end to end Finance data including source systems, accounting engines, sub ledgers, data integration layers, general ledgers, consolidations, revenue or treasury systems and analytics/reporting platforms.
  • Highly Experienced with data visualisation tools (e.g Tableau, Power BI, Cognos etc.).
  • Knowledge of defining principles and guidelines for the design and management of finance data and management and previous experience in major finance transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of scoping and requirement documentation.
  • Experience with data warehouse technologies and relevant data modelling best practices
  • Proficient working with APIs and data querying languages for data modelling and analysis.
  • Experience in data and system architecture would be an advantage.
  • Experience within a finance team working on high volume, complex transactional data is preferable.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Current unrestricted worldwide passport.

  • Be in possession or be able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check* (or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin).
