Role     

We would like to speak to Tax professionals who have either specialist or generalist experience in Employment or Global Mobility Taxes, whether you would like to continue your specialism in these areas, or broaden your remit.

Your work will be varied. Below will be some of your core primary key responsibilities:

  • Advising on all aspects of employment tax and global mobility matters and coming up with practical, efficient solutions to suit their needs
  • Assisting with PAYE projects e.g. PAYE reviews, Revenue audits and due diligence
  • Management and over-seeing redundancy programs, including review of calculations and conducting meetings with affected employees
  • Assisting with the successful delivery and review of a portfolio of complex high profile shadow payroll calculations e.g. senior executives, key directors etc.  
  • Advising on all employer compliance obligations with regard to various items of remuneration, including benefits in kind, directors fees, share based remuneration, salary sacrifice, termination payments etc. 
  • Main point of contact for a portfolio of employment tax clients and assisting with the day-to-day queries that arise
  • Identification of and application of appropriate employment tax reliefs for foreign executives coming to work in Ireland e.g. SARP, Split Year Treatment, travel and subsistence etc.
  • Consult with and support our global mobility team on employment tax obligations
  • Experience identifying areas of employer non-compliance (PAYE audits, due diligence, payroll controls/operational reviews) and providing guidance and recommendations on best practice
  • Quantifying potential PAYE exposures and assisting with preparation of self-corrections, voluntary disclosures (draft letter, Revenue notifications etc.)
  • Develop employment tax knowledge, process optimization, and documentation for our payroll team to manage complex shadow payroll queries
  • Assisting with PAYE operational effectiveness and payroll tax process reviews, identifying any material gaps in the overall process and suggesting control improvements
  • Ensuring quality control procedures are adhered to in order to ensure client work is carried out to a consistently high quality 
  • Overseeing compliance with real time reporting and timely filing of returns 
  • Assistance with management and rollout of structured PAYE training programs
  • Assistance with ongoing business development e.g. overseeing proposals, marketing initiatives / activities etc. 
  • Continual improvement and standardisation of shadow payroll operations and systems, including processes around data collection, co-ordination and management of shadow payrolls
  • Assisting other departments within KPMG with payroll compliance and employee reward related queries for their clients
  • Membership of the Irish Taxation Institute (or equivalent foreign institute) or Qualified accountant (Chartered Accountant or equivalent);
  • Good technical skills and knowledge of Employment taxes, Expatriate taxes;
  • At least 2-3 years of working experience in income tax, expatriate project management;
  • Ability to delegate, manage and review trainee work on allocated clients.
  • Previous experience in global or regional tax compliance services for multinational clients
