Deem is seeking a Director, Business Intelligence with a proven track record developing and managing advanced Data-Warehousing solutions. As a leader in our team, you will expand the use of our Business Intelligence platform and the underlying data infrastructure. You will partner across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and interfacing other domains like, Product, Business Development, and Finance, to design, develop and enhance a sophisticated advanced Business Intelligence platform that will provide the various company departments the core data intelligence they require. The Director, Business Intelligence will build a new team comprising of Data Scientists and ETL Engineers, partnering closely with BI Analysts across the company.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with a team of Analysts to provide guidance to Executive management and functional leaders on KPI's, metrics, and business decisions including accurate analysis of user and business data
- Promote empirical decision-making as an evangelist for data-driven decision-making
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, managing and developing a Business Intelligence team to architect, implement and maintain a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform
- Develop, track, and enforce consistent data definitions
- Develop and implement strategies to support ongoing data management needs, such as governance, technology shifts, and regulatory compliance changes
- Define and continuously improve our data collection and visualization stack
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, engineering, sales, business development, finance, and marketing to help develop data-informed business strategies and road maps
- Work with BI Analysts to provide KPI dashboards for Exec Management use
- Hire, train, and supervise BI team and ensure that team builds a BI Platform that supports the needs of each business unit
- 7+ years of in-depth, intensive technical experience designing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions (preferable within the Travel industry)
- Advanced degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Math, Economics or in Computer Science with Modelling/Data Science coursework
- Experience working with Senior and Executive leadership as a quantitative owner
- Familiarity with relational databases, ETL technologies, data transformation, data mining, machine learning algorithms, data visualization, and ad hoc analysis
- Experience with big data software and techniques
- Ability to work productively with others in a highly collaborative manner
- Ability to proactively identify business problems, break them down into analytical tasks, and solve them
- Working closely with internal clients, the successful candidate will have excellent stakeholder management, analytics, advanced modelling techniques as well as exceptional communication skills
- Ability to communicate results to a business audience in a clear and concise way
- Demonstrated success in product and stakeholder management
- Experience working with executive management, business leads, sales, product and marketing teams to successfully meet deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Deep Data-Warehousing/Big Data knowledge, past experience of building complex BI solutions
- Great people management skills, ability to recruit, develop and coach team members
