Certifications Analyst

Purpose of the Role

To accelerate the market growth and to ensure fast and compliant “go to market” route for multiple partner payment solutions. Also to increase testing service efficiency through self-accreditation and partner self-service.

The Partnership Certifications and Testing Services team operates within the wider Integrated Payment Solution (IPS) Department. Operating in a key business environment, ensuring that Partner, 3rd party, iPOS, PSP and eCommerce solutions are certified to the highest standards, prior to processing with Elavon.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the facilitation of the certification process, tasked with supporting customer integrations with Elavon acquiring host.  He/she will operate as part of wider IPS team, focused specifically on IPOS/PSP, eCommerce and associated card scheme mandated certifications. 

The role of the successful candidate will be to maintain a Test environment, maintain test tools also test script development & management. Candidate will be responsible for testing of the POS solution as well as acting as an EMV expert. He/she will be responsible for process ownership to maintain and manage test tools and test scripts as part of self-accreditation process.

The candidate will also actively participate in the solution testing, certification and implementation of new products and payment acceptance solutions.

 

 Key Responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple projects efficiently and within agreed timelines.
  • Being able to work under pressure and react to changing user requirements.
  • Supporting client during project initiation, certification, and go-live stages.
  • Ensuring all solutions are fully tested, certified and documented, in accordance with card brand accreditation requirements and Elavon Merchant Services guidelines designing Test scripts, test cases;
  • Creation of the test scenarios in which tests are carried out;
  • Managing and maintaining the Test Tools and the test environment;
  • Testing and bug tracking, managing system releases.
  • Collaborate with other technical and development teams to ensure the test environment is correctly configured in accordance to card brand and Elavon specification requirements.
  • Ensuring the compliance and card scheme regulations are observed and incorporated in the testing process and documentation.
  • Creating and documenting procedures related to the testing process.
  • Preparation of certification evaluation reports and submission of the report to test schemes.
  • Maintaining correct and accurate records for audit purposes.
  • Provide training on system use and test processes for external and internal customers.
  • Conduct face-to –face meetings or conference calls with customers when needed
  • Provide support in terms of research and problem solving to internal and external customers.
  • Ensures that the customer is kept secure in line with the acceptable use policy and other published security policies, standards and best practice.
  • Comply with Elavon Conduct Code in work-related matters. Proactively supports company philosophy and culture.

  • EMV Specialist/ UAT testing/ software tester/ Software QA experience or similar
  • Payments industry experience
  • Test automation knowledge & experience.
  • Experience in technical customer support maybe an advantage.
  • Experience with or knowledge of 3D Secure, VbV and other security protocols advantageous
  • Knowledge of modern test methodologies
  • Proven experience in test script writing and working with the test tools
  • Very strong analytical skills

  • Knowledge and skills in the use of technologies for detecting and tracking defects 
  • Understanding and knowledge of quality assurance processes and methods used in software development
  • Knowledge of payment protocols and scheme specific payment requirements extremely desirable

  • Can travel both within and outside Ireland as required

Qualification requirements

  • Prior experience with EMV specifications, Payment Scheme specifications and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with the major credit card/debit card networks, card processing and industry standards.
  • 2+ years of experience performing hands-on EMV payment testing using various credit card/chip and pin devices.
  • Experience in QA/QC software testing including identifying required testing, performing analysis, and developing associated test plans.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and an understanding of how the role of testing fits into this lifecycle.
  • Contactless/Contact payments expertise. Experience with MasterCard PayPass, Visa payWave, American Express Expresspay and Discover Zip/D-PAS.
  • Design and implementation of flexible, reusable, and maintainable tests.
  • Experience working with EMV tools and their vendors Collis, ICC Solutions, Savvi, .etc
  • Bachelor’s in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of EMV standards for payment processing is strongly
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Other language skills advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice suite, advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills – ability to understand the complete payment process flow and connecting system/application.
  • Ability to communicate complex messages, system solutions or issues using appropriate language, both written and oral.
